Fine Art Photographer, John Hintz, Introduces New J-lintz Fine Art Collection Of Images

Florida fine art photographer, John Hintz, announced today the introduction of a New Gallery of images on his website titled “J-lintz Fine Art.”

In the words of the artist, this New gallery is the pulling together of all my favorite color-reversed “Swamptacular”, “JNH Palms” and “Oppostracts” images of nature.

The intent of these stylized images is to not only capture the beautiful and sometimes stunning lines, shapes, colors and textures found in nature but also uncover the amazing detail often hidden deep within. Primary subject matter to date has been palm, cypress and mangrove trees, air plants, ferns, water plants, reeds and other miscellaneous plant life.

All images were captured in sloughs, preserves, sanctuaries and environmental parks located throughout southwest Florida between 2014 and 2016.

What gives my images their unique graphic look? After a little experimenting, I found that simply reversing the colors effectively brought out an...

Fine Art Photographer, John Hintz, Introduces New Oppostracts Series

Florida fine art photographer, John Hintz, announced today the introduction of a New Series of images titled “Oppostracts.”

The term “Oppostracts” is a combination of the words OPPOSITE (in this case it refers to the colors) and ABSTRACT (more specifically, abstract images found in nature). The subject matter of the Oppostracts being introduced includes driftwood, tree roots and bark, vines, reeds, seaweed and barnacles. Subject matter for future images could be just about anything as long as it is found in nature.

In the words of the artist, “While working on two similar Series (“Swamptacular” which only included images captured in swamps and “JNH Palms” which focused exclusively on palm trees), I developed a real fascination for nature. My interest has become so strong, in fact, I’ve decided to make natural abstracts my new main focus. I hope my images and my approach to these images will not only help viewers be more aware of all the natural beauty that surrounds...

Fine Art Photographer, John Hintz, Introduces New JNH PALMS - Stylized Series

Originally issued: May 14, 2015. Revised content: June 25, 2015. Florida fine art photographer, John Hintz, announced today the introduction of a New Series of images titled “JNH PALMS - Stylized.”

In the words of the artist, “While working on my recently introduced “Swamptacular” Series, I developed a real fascination for palm trees. My interest has become so strong, in fact, I have decided to make palms and, in particular, all the beautiful and intriguing and sometimes stunning natural abstracts hidden within them, my new main focus. I hope my palm images will not only make viewers more aware of all the natural beauty that surrounds them, but help them see an even deeper level of detail not easily seen with the naked eye.”

The New Series consists of twenty-seven stylized, images of palms featuring amazing detail, and an unusual, almost fantasy-like palette of colors – a lot of pinks, purples, blues; touches of browns and greens: plus bold, black and white...

Fine Art Photographer, John Hintz, Introduces New Swamptacular Series

Florida fine art photographer, John Hintz, announced today the introduction of a New Series of images titled “Swamptacular.”

The new series consists of twenty-two images taken on an unusually cold and gray day in November, 2014 at Six Mile Cypress near Fort Meyers, Florida. In the words of the artist, “Most of the images I captured, although interesting, lacked the color and crispness I was aiming for. I got some really nice reflections, silhouettes, close-ups and natural abstracts, but they just didn’t have much “pop”. Determined to make this series of images worthy of uploading to my website, I started experimenting with my processing software and eventually found that simply switching each image to a color negative effectively brought out the hidden detail while the new palette of intriguing colors provided the energy I was looking for. Hence the name, “SWAMPTACULAR!””

Placed in a room with the right color scheme, prints of and throw pillows with these images...

Florida fine arts photographer, John Hintz announced today the introduction of a new series of forty images titled “Nevada Rocks.” All photos in the series were shot in September, 2014 in the desert outside Las Vegas in one session beginning at sunrise and ending around noon. The intent of the series was to capture the changes in the desert landscape brought about by the rising sun. This series should be of particular interest to interior designers in the Southwest.

In the words of the artist, “After spending most of my life in cool, damp and gray Ohio and now a resident of sunny, hot and humid Florida, getting out onto the dry sand and rocks of the desert for the first time was like being a kid in a candy store. The change in environment was so overwhelming, I had trouble deciding where to start. All the natural beauty - the shapes, the forms, the lines, the textures and mostly the color all at some point...

In the words of the artist, “I am now in the early stages of a second career as a fine arts photographer and the impact of my move to Florida from Ohio couldn’t be more evident than in my New “Plants & Friends Series” of photographs. My primary subject matter is local plant and wildlife. As a Midwesterner, seeing these, many for the first time, is truly amazing. Everything here in Florida is so different from what I am used to. Even a simple bromeliad is full of mystery and beauty. I now use my graphics background and experience to recognize and include the bold, sweeping...
